The 2010 VW Touareg is a midsize SUV that holds 5 passengers. It comes in two trim levels, the VR6 FSI and V6 TDI (diesel engine). The VR6 FSI comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps and wipers, foglights, a power tailgate, a sunroof, rear parking assist, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, V-Tex leatherette interior, walnut wood accents, 12-way power driver and eight-way manual passenger heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth® phone connectivity, and a 10-speaker CD stereo with satellite radio and an auxiliary audio jack. The 2010 Touareg comes in several packages with various options. The Luxury package upgrades the wheel size to 19-inch alloys and contains leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a 12-way power passenger seat, different wood interior trim, and a sliding armrest. The Lux Limited package contains all the Luxury features, adding 20-inch alloys, chrome tailpipes and grille, refined front and rear bumpers and side sills and fancier interior trim. The Technology package includes a hard-drive-based navigation system, bi-xenon headlamps, a back-up camera, iPod input, an 11-speaker sound system and keyless entry and ignition.
The Premium Technology package adds the high-quality Dynaudio sound system to the Technology package, as well as a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a trailer hitch, and an electronically adjustable air suspension (air suspension requires the Luxury or Lux Limited package).
Engine/Powertrain
All models of the 2010 Volkswagen Touareg contain all-wheel drive, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a low-range gear for off-road excursions. The Touareg VR6 FSI contains a narrow-angle 3.6-liter gasoline V6 engine with 280 hp and 266 pound-feet of torque, and the Touareg V6 TDI includes a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine powering 221 hp and a whopping 407 lb-ft of torque. The Touareg can tow up to 7,700 pounds.

Safety
The 2010 Volkswagen Touareg includes antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, ncline roll-back control, and hill descent control. It also contains front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.
